Husqvarna ID question

I have aquired an older husky saw from an estate but has no labeling or tag stating model # on outside is there other serial model # s somewhere on saw . Looks to be similar size to my 50 rancher but has one bar nut . I have a few pics just have to relearn how to post them

My husky 61 looks similar to a bunch of other husky saws. If the recoil starter assembley was replaced with a used one and had a different model name on it, then it could be very confusing. I think there is a stamped name plate riveted on somewhere just outside plain view. Hope it works out for ya. You get a good price?

Someone did not like a Husky and took of the numbers off it?  ;D
Canadiana,is right,there should be a silver plate riveted on the head of it.
Unless the saw is warm to the touch.  ;)

The serial number should be located under the oil cap, but it is quite often missing. (Rivets falling out).

Looks like  my old 62, I would say its a two digit.

It's from a friend that passed away and we found out he was a hoarder House was just goat trails inside  In his shed he multiple saws (30 +) from the early 1950's to most recent 372XPG Husqvarna . Quite a few vintage saws

Sablatnic says 238 and it seems right. If it had a wht on/off switch i would say it definitely is but husky made soooo many that look like this and every couple years they changed the case colors. Maybe the mystery is more fun 8)

One more thing, you can unscrew the screw above the fuel cap and tell what you find. That series of saws had an air filter under the little square cower.

Just what I wanted to see - with that air filter it isn't a 238, but more likely a 234.  Or a 133 with a later brake.

Greatly appreciated , runs well and light will make a great saw for small stuff around yard .

They were great saws and very loved in the 8o's.
And I still have a 242.
