I bought a used 359 a few weeks ago in Canada. Its the e-tec model made in 2011 with the green gas cap and CAT muffler. Does anyone know if they sell them with the CAT mufflers in Canada? or is it just a USA thing with more strict emissions regs. I would just like to know if my saw is originally from the U.S or not. Thanks.

My newest 359 has it. Don't know if it's regulated or not.

I believe if the saw is a husky ETECH model, or has green gas caps, that means it has a catalytic muffler. Not sure about US\Canada though.

Sorry do you mean your saw has the CAT muffler? and it was bought in Canada?

DaleK

Yep on both. It was one of the last 359s to be sold in Canada.

Interesting. I was told by a chainsaw shop owner that my saw must be from the states if it has the CAT muffler. Maybe they just arent that common around here. Have they stopped making/selling the 359 etec?

If its a 2011 saw it has the cat muffler, it should say CAT right above the part number on the muffler.
