Has anyone tried making charcoal in their OWB.From what I have read it is the process of baking wood.The gases released would burn and heat the water.The by product  can be used in the summer . Any thoughts

No reason it won't work. You will just have to keep the charcoal from igniting when you remove it from the stove. Maybee put it in an airtight steel garbage can until it cools down?
