I have been reading some of the newly filled in Bio's. Here is my favorite line so far. I'm not saying whose it is,Ya''ll can find it for yourselves. ;)

It's funny how you look at trees different after you get a mill.

They widened the highway to 4 lanes just a little north of us.  Where they crossed a small stream they cleared out a path through the forest. They left one red oak about 24" on the stump and 30' to the first limb standing out on the right of way just a little out from the rest of the forest.

For the past 5 years or so Mary gives the tree a good look every time we pass – I'm sure trying to figure out how many bf and of what grade she could saw out of it.  

Standing alone and with nothing to protect it from the sun,  it's dead now. Probably the worms will get it. :(
