The wife and I went to watch our 17 yo senior win fourth place at pole climbing and first place (team) at fire hose lay out in Bend on saturday. Really exciting to watch the kids competing in these events, there was the two-man (or woman) cross cut saw, choker setting, log rolling, arbor climbing and line splicing and some other events. Was really suprised at the amount of girls involved in this too, it was almost fifty percent girls to boys. Our school just started this club back up last year after a ten year hiatus, hopefully they will keep it going. There was probly ten schools competing on saturday.

Well Done! Will be on ESPN next.
There is actually a Youtube video of one of his competitions, it is titled "Sweet Home Logging Competition" my son is in the one that is 50seconds long (pole climb). It took place in Knappa, Oregon about a month ago.
