I'm new to the forum but not new to saws. I've been killing trees for a living for 14 years now. Bottom line is i have a old 084 that starts and runs but as soon as you goose it it will rev up then die. Almost like it is starved for fuel. I have a chainsaw mill that i use with my 066 but the 84 would have a bit more juice if running right so i would like to get it running right. Does anyone have a repair manual for a 084? I would love one for a 066 also. Wouldn't mind throwing a few bucks out for one either. My local dealer is a old gent and would give me the info but here runs everything on micro fish...Hell he even swipes credit cards with the old machine and paper deal. lol.  Thanks.

I don't know much but suspect you just need to rebuild your carb

Not necessarily. I had a freshly rebuilt Husky 350 act in the same manner. Turned out to be my impulse line. Given the age of an 084, a complete fuel system overhaul would be in order if it were on my bench  ;D
