Tried something new with brussel   sprouts tonight. Browned some bacon bits and onion, minced garlic and minced fresh ginger. Added some fresh corn and fried till the corn was al dente, then added brussel sprout leaves and fried that down just a bit to lightly wilt the brussel sprout leaves just a tad but still leave them slightly crisp. Salt and pepper to taste.

They were good. I just finished off what was left over.

I have to try that. We really enjoy brussel sprouts drizzled with olive oil and grilled. Salt and pepper to taste.

Looks really good.

Another way to do them is to cut them in half and coat liberally with olive oil.  Put them cut side down on a sheet pan and cover with aluminum foil.  Put them in a 500 degree over for about 10 minutes until the bottoms are brown and delicious.  Then, take off the foil and continue cooking in the 500 degree oven until the tops brown.  Sprinkle on some minced garlic.  You can also add some grated Parmesan cheese at the very end.

Lee,

Sure looks good. I used to use a few in my super soup (start with 2 lbs browned ground beef, 2 qts tomato sauce, 2 quarts diced or crushed tomatoes, carrots, potatoes, a big onion, and enough mixed frozen veggies of any kind to fill up a 4-5 gallon pot. I have also used to leaves off cauliflower (a little bitter but nice touch) and stalks off broccoli. Season to taste and eat for a week.)
