I'm going to buy a used saw and put a big bore kit on it. I know how to check bearings on each side of the crank for play. Is there any way to determine if a saw is likely to end up with a spun crank? Just wondering what I should check on the crank before buying.
Crank failure is nearly non existent on saws that have a big bore kit available to them.
Crankbearing failure yes, but a spun crank I have never seen in a chainsaw in over 25 years of servicing them.
Hamish,
Thank you! That's good to know. I appreciate the info!
