Title: Diamond files
Post by: bandmiller2 on November 30, 2008, 02:53:12 PM
I have the Dexter file guide for headsaw bits ,and considering a diamond file insted of the mill bastard.Ron says they will work on any bit, just want to double check I didn't missunderstand before I spring for the diamond.Do any of you guys have good luck on regular bits?? or does the diamond file load with the softer bits??For shaping grinding stones I wouldn't be without a diamond dresser.Frank C.

Gday Frank

Ive touched up a carbide tipped saw with a Elcheapo diamond rasp type file to get me outa trouble a coupple of times when i was waiting for a new dimond wheel for my homemade jockey grinder that id made from raiding the 12 volt head of my auto bandsaw sharpener  ;) :D ;D that was only sposted to be for a couple of months till i got a jockey but ive been using it for 8 years now  :D :D :D

doing it like that was tireing and it took me about 20 30 minits  but it keept me cutting if id had the rite file i think it would have been an easy job  and saved me some time  ;) ;D

where do you guys get the diamond files? I was touching up the teeth on my band blades between sharpening with the diamond file on my leatherman, worked okay but I wore out the file :)

Bert, what I'am planning is a simple shed roof on four poles,aprox.10x16.I would like something more but i must keep a low profile if you know what I mean.My carrage is 14'and everything important will get tucked under the roof.Later the roof may stretch out a little.Frank C.
