Can someone please help ID this tree. It is in England, UK but it may not be native.

It may be giant sequoia (Sequoiadendron giganteum) which is in the cypress family (Cupressaceae). Widely planted around the world as an ornamental.
Carbon sequestered upon request.

Cones and needles look right for a Giant Sequoia.

They do grow OK in England, and have often been planted there as ornamentals.

This has been an enlightening thread. It never occurred to me I could grow a giant sequoia here. I looked into it tonight, and checked my local tree guy. He doesn't have those, but he does have dawn redwood. I'm thinking I'll get one of those to replace the tree I'm removing, and perhaps a pawpaw or two. I usually like to stick with native plants, but the dawn redwood is an impressive tree. I've seen them a couple times before, but didn't know what it was.
