Hope this is the proper place to make this post. Just a general hello to all fellow sawyers! I got myself set up with a woodland mills hm126 and getting myself a 880 magnum with a 47" bar for the big EDITED BY ADMIN to slab up. I'm very excited to find an entire forum of people dedicated to milling up logs; I wasn't sure such a forum existed and am very happy to find one does, and an active one at that!

So far my main equipment is:
-hm126
-18" echo 40 cc
-Stihl 880
-alaskan mill. Probably going to weld my own up after a while. I've heard the grandberg ones are OK, but have room for improvement
-soon to be constructed solar kiln (looking into different types--looking to make a variation on the Virginia Tech plan) Haven't looked into the forums much, but I'm sure there are plenty of threads on the topic of drying lumber properly.

I look forward to talking with everyone about everything from knocking down trees to drying out lumber in a kiln and everything in between!

Howdy brother. I'm new as well so most of what you see from me will be questions. When you get a chance go to your settings and ad where your from, that will help with some questions you'll have in the future.

Looks like you will fit in just fine. Welcome.
We have a Drying and Processing Board just for you. :D
Kinda upper left,Menu Bar. You will see Home,Help,Search. Below that is The Forestry Forum. Click onto that and that will list all the Boards. Drying will be in there.

What's the plan for the lumber?
Fueling my cabinetry/furniture building and then selling off everything I don't use. If I had enough trees on my property I'd mill them to make a kiln, but home depot will have to do for now!
