Electric Motor Rotation

Which end of an electric motor do you look at to determine CW or CCW  ???  The shaft/pulley end or the other  ???

That's what I thought.  I looked at some motors at TSC the other day and on their box it said that direction of rotation was determined by looking at the other end  ???  Thanks Bob  8)

A lot of (but not all) motors are reversible. There will be a diagram on the motor plate how to connect it for the rotation desired.
I hope my ship comes in before the dock rots!

The motor I ended up with from Surplus Center is reversible 8) and was considerably less than TSC's which not  :)

It will say on the tag witch end they set it up for.
Most are looking at the shaft itself, but I have seen them where you look from the back side.

On a single phase motor all you do is reverse the start winding .Some are easy to do some you have to disect .
