Title: needle plugged
Post by: Jim_Rogers on June 17, 2018, 08:52:02 AM
I have three squirt bottles with blue creeper in them. Two of them are plugged and I can't get the liquid out when I squeeze them. The third one is missing.

I just order some move to get two need squeeze bottles.
But in the mean time how can I clean out a plugged needle?

I betcha some Blue Creeper would unplug it.  :D
But I wonder if some boiling hot water would do it? Boil the needle too.
I've had some for about 2 years, never had one plug yet.

Jim,
Go to a hobby/train/RC shop.  Pick up a piece of Piano Wire - it is really stiff.  You can get some really thin stuff and use it to poke out the gunk in your applicator.

Thanks John.
I have a hobby lobby near me.
maybe I'll take one with me to make sure I get the right size wire.
I knew someone would say use blue crepper.....

Hobby Lobby might have piano wire.  I meant a real hobby shop. ;)

Jim

Thank you for your order.

I asked the resident expert and he has never thought of boiling the need but believes it may work depending on what is pulling the needle.
As for wire, he finds it near impossible to thread the wire through the need.  His answer was "I throw them away and get another one."  So it looks like you already read his mind. ;)

Smash, smash!
I get impatient.

You might try heating it with a lighter.

Yes it does Bill.  I am still amazed that they still sell it.  Might need to buy some more before they quit.

Being from Texas I am think "Blue Creeper" what is it? So look it up sounds like it is some assume stuff. So thought I would buy a 12 oz bottle and shipping was so high that it double in price. Where do you all but it?

It's worth double the price, so what's the problem?

That would be assume always wanted to go up north to see the country, but still work at a public job never seem to have the time to go. I really enjoy this forum reading and looking at the pics of the logs and lumber of the hugh trees and all of the greenery.  Here in East Texas it is dry as a powder keg and brown. We do have some large Pecan and Oak most all of the large timber has been gone a long time. Mostly all that is left is pine plantations. I did order the Blue Creeper anyway because they are here on the forum.

Ps thanks for the invite.

Thanks bwstout!  I saw your order come in and looked for different shipping methods for you but didn't find any that were less.
We usually can put the 8 oz or less in the mail for $3.50 - $4.00ish.

I just clip the plugged end off the needle with a heavy duty scissors. It usually starts flowing again.
