I have a lot of big tooth aspen that is ready to harvest.   I am able to cut a truckload and stack it at the roadside.  Any thoughts on how to go about selling it ?

When I was selling wood I would ask my trucker and a logger I know. Might be some paper work on your end to fill out too.

There are two places in my area that purchase aspen for shavings for animal bedding. One stick scales and pays $90/cord, the other pays $32/ton for aspen and $26/ton for pine. The stick scale outfit deducts for rot.

Aspen here in Maine is selling for a high price, or was a few months back. I don't really have any. Some at the lower end of the field. MIGHT be a truck load.

Verso was/is paying good money for both tree length and 100", but that is on a volume contract with our marketing boards I think. Island Falls is treelength not quite $53/ton, Jay is 100" close to $61/ton. Mill delivered.

We had a veneer market for good aspen, but pulp prices at the time were just about the same anyway.

Anyone making berry boxes and needing aspen veneer logs? I suppose not many berries to pick in winter. ;D

$45.00 a cord on the landing for aspen pulp.  $70.00 for 100" sawbolts.

Private wood delivered to the local pulp mill pays about $103/cord ($41/ton).  Most of my work in within 50-60 miles of the mill.  I like cutting aspen.  Cuts easy and adds up quickly.

The only aspen dad cut was large stuff, that needed cut'n before it went down hill in quality. 300 cord on 10 acres back in '84. Sent it to Houlton, Maine. Remnants on the line died and fell down about 6 years ago, 24"-36" stuff. He did all the cut'n and had a skidder man. Cut 10 cord a day of 100" for a truck load, hauled after supper. Other aspen was cut later, but it was by a logger on stumpage. You couldn't break the limbs on this stuff with your method, too big. She'd look terribly rough. Had to be cut flush.
