Things are happening in Maine too about leaving dogs in the car. We use to leave the car running with the air conditioning on when we would leave the dog in the car. We would lock the dog in the car.  ;D

Same here but because of car thieves the cops are crack ing down and unoccupied running vehicles too

My '98 dodge is nice you can take the key out of the ignition once you turn it a little bit.  This works out great, for a few reasons, the main one being that I can leave my truck running and take the key with me, so that when my dog sees something that interests him, and he is barking his head off and stands on the door lock, locking me out, I can get back in.  I like that feature.
Boy, back in my day..

:D That is a problem with the electric locks in our Ranger. The guy that designed the switch placement obviously didn't own a dog. Leaving dogs unattended in a vehicle on a warm day would net you a heap of trouble here. Don't even consider firearms.
