7500# Steve
I will guess 5284 lbs. Muggs 8)
I could do it the Price Is Right way and guess 7501# but I'm thinking more like 8,500#.
It's awfully hot here (90+) to be thinking of such a log.
My WAG is 9,400#.
Guessing that the hollow center is deceiving. #6950
I would put that log somewhere between 8,500 - 9,500 lbs
8500 lbs
10,000
12,000 pounds. Maybe 12,750 pounds. If it is less than 11,000 pounds, I will buy you a coke.
11,500 lbs
Depending upon the moisture content and the species of oak:
Somewhere between 8,500# and 13,000#.
GAB
300.......I mean it does have a hole in it. DUH!!!!!
Blonde Goat
According to the "log weight" scale in the tool box, it's weight is: 13,396.32, but that's without figuring out the rotted part.
I would think the rotted part would have been around 300#, so 13,096.32 pounds!
11,750
The log weight was 15,240 lbs!!!
What kind of equipment did you use to move that thing?
All of it!
We couldn't handel it we shoved it of trailer where it was going to be cut
That was going to be my 2nd guess ;) What's in the hole? concrete?
That's one heavy log!
Are you sure you didn't have your foot resting on the scale?
15,240? Wow !!!!!!!!
There's probably metal in it.
Someone must have laid a V-8 against it years ago and I don't mean Mater Juice.
materhead
Lol.. It swallowed the dozer it sprouted up under.
next question is what mill is it going on? be nice to know how well some of these beds handle a log of that size.

The lucas mill will be set up around the log and cut where it lays
I don't owe nobody no coke (coca cola for the uninitiated in Southern lingo. Not a soft drink, not Pop, that is your Daddy :)).
Had a similar sized cottonwood a couple years ago. A little smaller diameter, didn't weigh it but the loader picked it up and its rated at 8000. Interesting how the species makes such a difference in weight. Was into the second tank of saw gas before I had it small enough to get onto the woodmizer. Some would ask why... well I guess just to prove I could do it. Couldn't imagine doing the job without the loader. Really admire the work some folks go to moving logs manually or with small loaders etc..

Here it is a co-cola.
I often heard it as coker-coler...
Goes great with a slice a peetzer.
Co cola and nabs....
The kind of oak tree that came from is important in calculating the weight. I entered it in the toolbox calculator as red oak and came up with 12,670. Same dimensions as live oak was 15,046. I guesstimated the mid-point diameter to be 55".
