New to forum so please forgive me if my question seems naive.

I have a 60-80' pine tree about 15 ft from the back corner of my house. It is on the property line and right next to the fence. Neighbor's house is 10-15' away on the other side of the fence.

This tree is surrounded by many mature trees (oak and other pines). It is not accessible by crane.

Felling this is not really an option.

But it rains pine straw and pine cones on my house and patio. I'm constantly have to clean up after it.

Is it possible to have someone climb it and cut off most of the branches to stop the rain of pine straw etc?

jvallee,welcome to the forum.
Might be on the high money side to get it done, but you won't be cleaning up cones and straw anymore.  ;D  Also depends on what you want for a job. Will also depends on what they do. Can you pick up the limbs and haul them off? That would take a chainsaw, truck to haul limbs and alot of time. Might be a tipping fee at your landfill that might be on the high side too.

Jvallee, where you located? That would help a lot. many ppl from different areas could take that tree down if we knew where you were.

If you cut off most of the branches you will remove the ability for the tree to collect sunshine and produce sugar and energy to survive, so in a couple years you will be left with a tall, dead, tree. Your only option may be to remove it, a decision best left to an arborist.  You are probably looking at a pricy endeavor.

If its sound, a climber can rig it down using itself or the other trees as a spar for the rigging. Your description is basically how i ended up in tree work, urban pines between my garage and an apartment.  60ft tall with an 8ft landing zone.

You can probably find a climber local to you pretty easily on arboristsite.  Insist on seeing the insurance and then VERIFYING an active policy with the company.

Yard pine trees can be a real nuisance with their build up of falling needles and "sticky cones." As stated, an experienced tree service should be solicited to remove them. The longer that the trees remain and continue to increase in size, the more the problem with increased costs to remove them.

I have seen an 80 foot Norfolk taken down in about three hours by an experienced climber.  He parked a rolloff bin under the tree and cut off every branch as he went up with a belt and spikes.  When he got as high as the tree could support him, he cut off the top, then cut the trunk in about three foot segments as he came down.  Every piece landed in the bin. It obviously wasn't his first time.
