Hey everyone nice place you have here!  ;)

I have a question about a hydraulic valve that I've
been looking for unsuccessfully so far.  :(
The valve is out of a older (I think its early 80's) treefarmer skidder C7D.
The make of the valve is a Gresen, the series is called "25P".
I've called pretty much every where across North America
and have had a few leads but it's taking a lot of time
for the few that say they "think" they have the valve
to get back to me, and I'm down and out until I can
find a new valve.

If it matters any I am looking for the left cover or side which is part #3000 or #3001
of the 25P model, but I think it would only be sold as a
complete unit.

Also I am aware that Gresen hydraulics has been bought  out
by Parker.  I contacted a Parker dealer in my area and didn't
have any success or maybe a little I guess.  What Parker said they could do was give
me another valve cover from another model "gresen or parker i dont rembember"
that would fit but they quoted me close to $3000 for the replacement valve
and it also included a relief valve for they main in from the pump (which i dont have which
is why this valve is dead :(  ). The relief valve was about $300 so the main
valve is at a low cost to me of $2700  :o

This to me just seems way off the charts but if I cant find a direct replacement
well i guess thats what i have to do. My thoughts are that I know this
is a hard part to find but I'm pretty sure there is one sitting on someone's
shelf covered in dust somewhere... I just have to find that place!  ???

Any help or ideas would be appreciated.... 8)

I had a little experiance with the hydraulic pump on my multitek firewood processor this spring. The main input shaft on the pump twisted and the splins stripped. Multitek wanted almost 1000.00 for the parts to rebuild it. So I made a couple phone calls and found a hydraulic company in PA( I think there Amish) Called Beiler Hydraulics They replaced the bad shaft and rebuilt the pump for under 300.00. I don't know if they can help you but there a big hydraulic company so here's there phone # 717-656-4878

When I google on
Gresen 25p directional control valve

several hits came up. One is a pdf with part numbers. Don't know if that is of any help, as you may have made those connections already.

Just ran across a new search engine...

Said to be 3X better than google.  Might give it a try. Has a different format on the hits.

I'm just guessing, but I suspect that cuil is pronounced COOL!  :D ;D

There is no need to say 'unleaded regular gas'. It's all unleaded. Just say 'regular gas'. It's not the 70s anymore. (At least that's what my wife tells me.)

Have you tried Eddie Nash in Colbrook N.H. They have a lot of used c7s.

How is the search for parts going Judo?  If need be I can contact a fellow up here and see if he has the parts.  He has 5 or six C7D's that he runs and has just as many for parts.  He has had all the machines since new and definately knows his way around them.  If you still need the parts just pm me the part numbers and I can see what I can do.

The search is still on man  ???

I have one valve on the way, should be a day or two before it gets here.
Its not the exact replacement but I'm told it "should" work....we will see.

I'll pm you anyway,
there's a few things your contact may be able to help me out with ;)
