Hi, I just went thru this myself with my 10 acres and needing my first chainsaw. 5 saws later, I came to the conclusion the smallest saw that can do the job is the right saw. I have a cheap home depot husky, ms460, 044, ms261c and a super small ms150 tc.

I used the ms150 the most, fallowed by the ms261c.

Im like you, I want the best quality and am willing to pay for it. But in hind sight, I wish I would have just bought a ms170. Then when I was comfortable with it regroup and get a bigger saw.

You will want two saws, and IMO there is no perfect saw.

Get a good pair of chaps.
