Hello all.  My dad has just recently purchased a used LT30 Woodmizer mill. He has worked in timber for the past 35
years but has not had a mill for quite awhile. We were wondering what the going rate for custom sawing is in our area. We live in southeast Missouri. The mill was primarily bought for use on the farm, but we may consider doing some custom work.  I really enjoy this site, glad I found it.
Any input will be greatly appreciated and thank you.

Welcome Sawman. I don't have a mill yet but the going rate
here in the KC area is $50. a hour with in a 40mile range.
You will find a lot of help here from some nice sawers.

sawman,
Let me start by saying "Welcome, Welcome"

Now if you do a search on this subject you should find a wealth of information. At least a good nite's reading.

Advance Mo.  looks like you may be just across the river from me. you should be fairly close to bibby too.

Do that search, lots of good stuff here.

Welcome sawman!   ;D  Like Kevin_H said you can find tons of info on these boards.  I like just going through the pages of posts one at a time, I usually find what I need plus I'll find other subjects or ideas I hadn't thought about.
If you put your two cents in and only get a penny for your thoughts...who gets the change?

Welcome sawman,
Dig around! You may even come up with a few things you'll realize you'd been better off not knowing. :D
