I am looking for someone in my region of the Left Coast that might own and opersate a Woodizer moulder/planer.  I understand that they are  larger in weight and physical size than a similar type unit from Sweden.  Any and all information is gladely received.  I am wondering about the ease of operation as to the knife set up etc..

I understand that the costs are about 4 grand higher. :'(

Hi Frank,

I might be a customer if you purchase said or similar item.

I am looking for ways to make the 1x6 and 1x4 material more marketable.  Many people don't know what to do with rough sawn.  Surface one side and it becomes pretty paneling for the sewing room.

In service to you and others I am assuming operation of the Woodmizer kiln in Fossil.  It is new and has an adjacent shed (30x50) to keep away the weather.

Someday we will have trailer loads headed for your moulder and a return loads headed for the kiln.

Cheers from Kendall

Frank,

WM has had thier moulder @ the show in Portland. Your a little off in price, if I remember correctly its about 40K, that was the price 2 years ago.

Don, I am off on a great number of things, that is for sure.   Not much information available I reckon.  That is fine I will call the factory as I got their number in the snail mail today, along with a packet of pretty pictures.

You are probably correct on the Price, as well, Don.  I must have misunderstood over the land line what the fella was saying.  I know he had a four in the figures he was quoting, but I needed to add another 30 grand to what I was selectively hearing.  It sounds like this brand  is not going to be an option.   I'll most likely stay with the Logosol, concept, small and less expensive. :'(

This topic here is done for me, at least.  Thanks for your input.

Kendal, when I get a unit set up I will let you know when to start hauling Westward.

You might look at those CGI moulders at D&L...  They seem a little more beefy in the specs though I've never seen one up close...

I've seen the WM at a show, and it can do the business good
but it is pricey, but worth it if you have the work to feed it

I don't know about WM moulder but I can tell ya about Logosol. We bought it a little over a year ago and I have to say it paid for itself very quickly. I'm one of a very few in this area that can match just about anything in these old houses. People buy these houses and then can't find flooring to match unless they come to me. I'm drying 3500 ft a month and I can't dry oak and maple fast enough to keep up with orders. Frank if you don't have a moulder a Logosol is a good easy to setup machine that pays for itself very quickly. Around 10 grand and your in business. Six or eight fair sized floors and you own it. Run one a couple years sell it and upgrade how can you go wrong.

Hello:
I run the Logosol and once you realize the limitations, it's OK.  Doublecut from D&L is now handling the CGI moulder that is the "beefed up and improved" version that Logosol should have put out in the first place.  I saw Doublecut last Thursday in his shop ( they are very busy) but I ended up getting the Eco Saw demo instead of seeing the CGI moulder.  Logosol is OK but it has some issues.  PM me for more info on the Logosol if you want.

Don't dream it, be it.

Frank_Pender, We have 3 moulders. A 4 head, 5 head and 6 head. The 4 head sells for $14,999.00, the 5 head $21,999.00 and the 6 head $ 31,030.00. You would want to talk to Gene Carter here @ Wood-Mizer. He is our moulder specialist and can find you someone in your area who may have one to watchand answer any queastions you might have.   Thanks
