Is there a resource, where I can find out, how many saws of each brand has been sold in the last year?

Talk to the saw reps. of each company , they might tell you ::)
just another beaver with a chainsaw &  it's never so bad that it couldn't get worse.

Not a good Idea, I think :-\

If they do tell you, multiply their figure by .5 :D :D :D

And if they say "within its category", multiply it by .3, because whenever a company says "within it"s category" you know they are lying 2x as much. I love car commercials :-D

im betting more poulans are sold than any other brand. just way more exposure to the public, looking for that saw to take care of some problem  in their yd.

hi...
i work at one of the larger Husky dealers in eastern canada ,and i can assure you that nobody will say anything about how much is sold.
here in canada when we started selling husky we didnt even know there were different levels of sales.
now we know there are atleast 3 different levels ,possibly 4.
the higher the level (more units sold) the better your deals get to be.
not sure how Stihl works but could be similar...more sales results in better deals from the manufacturer to the dealer .its a kind of incentive  i guess.
