Jose Lima dies

The Dodgers have announced the death of Jose Lima. 

Dang!!  I've watched him pitch.

I love baseball.

My great loss related to baseball was the death of Ernie Harwell.  What a great person he was. I was a rabid baseball fan for most of my life (up until 1994) and Ernie on the radio, and George Kell and Al Kaline as T.V. announcers will always be part of my fondest memories.  The death of Ernie has rekindled my interest in the Tigers, so I've been following them close this year.

I swore off following baseball up until just this past season due to the strike of 1994 and the big mouth of Cecil Fielder.

My high school football coach was very good friends with George Kell, they may have been raised up together in or near Swifton, Arkansas. We met Mr. Kell just before a ballgame I really was impressed from having such a baseball star take time to meet our team. I had a George Kell glove and bat and played third base also.
