Finally a heat less version of the jalapeno pepper is available for those of us that can't take the heat anymore. 100% of the flavor with zero heat. Started a couple plants this year and pickled my first batch today

Jalapenos ARE the mild chilli here.  :D

Although I have grown a Bhut Jolokia (Ghost Chilli) variant with no heat. 

Looks like a ghost chilli. Has the same fragrance, but no heat.  (bit of a waste of garden space really.)

We are still mid winter here, starting to look like spring, but I've got some plants I'm trying to overwinter, and some still have fruit ripening.  The more delicate tropical ones have curled up with the cold, even in the shed. But the little birds eyes seem to be holding their own, most of the Jalapeno plants are OK, and I have a chiltepin and a scotch bonnet still looking good. 

Yesterdays pick, pretty much the last one. The little round one is the chiltepin, which are known for their tolerance of some cold.

I used to love the burn but this old man's stomach has become the weak link to anything hot lately. Tough keeping all the body parts happy as I age. 🌶🌶😋

I had to back off, too.  In the old days, it was never hot enough.

I still go for the heat. Endorphin junkie I guess.

I like heat but also want to taste the food so don't overdo it but as I get older my tolerance seems to be less.

There's heat with flavor, then there is heat with pain (or at least until your face goes numb). Not into the pain part.
