what  are they capable of drying   ?  Could I  vac  log carvings? most of my chainsaw carvings are  no bigger than 3 feet round and 8 feet tall . Most are really a lot smaller than that. I don't think we would have to get  them as dry as cabinet lumber but id say down to 12 % would stop a lot of the movement.
Does anyone  have one in Ohio or close around  and want to work on an experiment?

Den is in PA. Not to far from Ohio.
Wish I was still at BWP (NOT!) I could give those logs a try.
What species do you want to dry?

species  really depends on what local tree services have  dropped off.
Usually  white pine ,cherry , walnut, aspen, catalpa, some cedar red and white.

Den Socling

A tiny discontinous or steam vac would work better than my kilns. I can operate in steam-vac-mode but flat surfaces are needed.

My next door neighbor is in the same boat. Maybe we'll build a 'special' for him then he can do custom drying of chansaw carvings.  :D
