Since I stopped cutting firewood last year and subsequently gave up my industrial lot, I had to set up the sawmill on my property. Here is a pic of the mill in the small area that I have allowed myself to work within. It is too easy to cut down the tress and chew up the property with the bobcat to make more room. It's a residential lot that is quite beautiful and I want to keep it that way. The slabs go into the grapple where I strap them then move them out of the way.
I cut, stickered & stacked 800 ft of 4/4, 8/4 and 6 by 6 today without help. The workflow worked well, except for the wind blowing from the wrong direction. :-)

That looks very well organized and neat. I can't even bear to post pictures of my "layout".
Too many irons in the fire

It is difficult staying neat and organized and it looks like you have mastered the art very well.  What do you actually do with the slabs?

The slabs get bucked into stove length and are used in my wood boiler as either kindling or the larger pieces to get a good hot fire going. I strap them as it allows me to pick them up with the bobcat and drop a load into the back of a pickup truck easily as well as buck them with the chainsaw using a long bar all at once. A bit of extra work but it pays off in keeping the mess manageable.

I thought so, but I wanted to hear your process.  It certainly sounds like you have your entire operation in order.   smiley_thumbsup
