Has anyone removed the front differential on a C5D?  I think I have the Centrax axle, I have the axle shafts out, and the differential unbolted but it won't fit between the housing and the frame.  Do you have to take the entire axle housing and everything off?

I'm stumped......

to remove front diff i cut grip bolts. pick up front of skidder with loader and roll it out on its wheels. unhook drive shaft first.

All the yrs i ran a C5D i never had a differential out of one. I would think if you loosened the cradle bolts the housing should tip enough to slide the differential out.

You have to take the cradle bolts out that hold the axle in. Put the blade down and pick the skidder up allowing the axle to rotate down. Drops straight out. I've done it on the landing with my TJ. Done a C6D in the shop.
