Well it was a good winter of logging. Lots of snow and cold which is good for us. We are now sawing but very slowly. Too much snow

This is the view from the top of the island looking towards the mainland. As you can see the ice bridge is getting very narrow

This is the log door at the mill. There are around 400 logs buried here somewhere. We are knocking out the ones sticking out of the snow and skidding them with the cone and snowmobile over to the mill and sawing them. Slow going but never a bad day when your sawing

Looking good!  How much longer will your ice bridge be safe to use?

I am happy that you had a successful logging Winter.  Were you able to bring all of your logs across the ice bridge, or will you have to raft them?

We are cutting balsam fir and spruce. We cut a little over 400 logs. We have 160 of those piled near the shore where we cut them . We will raft those home later this spring. The remainder are home at the mill under snow.

Wow.... here I thought I had some tough spots to bring logs to the mill!!

Great job!!!

With the fir and spruce, what are you running on the blade to keep the sap/pitch down?

Our ice bridge went out today. High winds here today.

I use just water on my blades. Add a little wiper fluid to keep from freezing at this time of year. Sometimes a little household cleaner but most often just water. Diesel fuel works best but too smelly and just not in my nature to drip fuel into my sawdust.
