The winch on the 225 timberjack I am running has broken the small steel strap that connects the right side collar to the frame of the skidder. This strap appears to keep this collar from rotating there is a hydraulic line is 180 degrees from the recess that this strap fits into. When this strap broke it broke the swivel fitting on the hydraulic line. Hoping we are to the bottom of this problem and it isn't a sign of problems deeper in the winch. Any thoughts or ideas would be great.

Your thrust bearing is shot. It sits just behind the collar that the strap holds.

Thanks for the info I figured it had to be something else I would assume take the winch off and go from there. Also thanks again what a great resource.

Thanks for the help it was the thrust bearing. We took the winch of and took it to a small Amish shop about 300 good to go
