So my dad was going through a box trailer and found an 015L he had forgot about having.  Someone gave it to him a couple of years ago.  The thing ran but wouldn't start when hot when he put it up.  He gave it to me.  I compression tested it and it showed 120psi.  I started it and tuned it.  Same thing happened again wouldn't hot start.  I compression tested when hot and it was 90 psi.  What should the compression be for this saw.  And do you guys think this could be an air leak problem. And is it worth fixing.

Try enriching the high speed. The early mini saws were famous for vapor locking, they couldn't dissipate heat fast enough. First thing I would do is pull the muffler for a peek at the piston, there may be excessive blow by. That is an old saw, may have been rode hard and put up wet.

Needle valve? They were known to leak.

Where is the needle valve?

In the carburetor, it controls fuel flow to the engine. I don't have fond memories oof the 015, it was a miserable little beast to service. BTW, this thread is almost five years old.
