Tree identification key cards

I remember when I was in junior high [I am 57] in a science class we had some cards that were shaped like computer keypunch cards. Printed around the edge were defining criteria, like compound leaves or needles. You put a needle that was similar to a knitting needle through the hole that you wanted. For example, the tree has needles, so you put it through the needle hole, and shook the deck, and all the cards that you wanted fell out. Then you picked another criteria, shook it, and a smaller group fell out. Finally you had one card with your species.

Are there any identification cards or devices available like that today? I have done some internet searching and have not found anything.

I know exactly what you're talking about, but I don't recall seeing one for tree identification. There are online versions of basically the same thing, like:

but if you're walking through the woods, you'll need an internet connection. Not sure if that's a better option than a big box of sorting cards.  :D
