038magnum - That wide head looks nice for sure, interesting but in the photo it appears like the head does extend outside the wheel a tad, is this true when hitched to your truck?

Cheers

038-what's the vertical clearance between the band and the board return, on your mill?

Okra is green with jealousy.  :snowball: I think if I were WM I would have called this an LT80 or LT75.

$1500 is a very small price to pay for the added 8 inches of cut.

Greed and envy are essentially the same thing, just with slightly different connotations!

038magnum, what control system does that mill use? I don't see a cat-track or operators station.

Man that 70 is wicked... Anybody wanna buy a lt40 300hours??? Hahahaah
Love the wide head. What motor options for 70?

Justin it does stick out a little. I took some pics. to show what it looks like ready to travel.

DJ.with the board return stored it the up and out of the way position, it looks like about 13 inches. It was getting dark when I got home tonight and it was hard to see the tape measure. Here is a pic that Marty took when he had it at his store.

Dave I have the Joysticks DCS controls. I had them set up away from the mill to stay out of the sawdust.

How about LT70 Super?

Seriously,  I don't know why Wood-Mizer don't just make the extra width standard and only raise the price a little to make up for the few extra pounds of steel?

I'd like to see an LT40, LT50 extra wide.    I seem to recall at least one built as a prototype or modified by someone.

   I wish I could modify my 70 into a widehead ;)

Somebody posted pictures of a wide one on here before, a 40, I think.

There's even a modified "widehead" lt40 lurking around here in NZ.

So I think that ideas been had a few times  :P

Love the lt70 factory widehead tho...
would love to see it in my rear vision mirror while towing it down the road...
