This is really nice. Did you torch the edges?

It's actually all stain, a technique I developed a few years ago.  I call it my "Southern Heirloom Finish" and the women just eat it up!  They gotta have that in their house!

I like that finish...keep it under your hat.

A local company is building similar farm tables and now shipping nation wide.  Started a few years ago in a garage.  You might enjoy there story.  James+James  BTW, they don't build the chairs...hardest part imo.

And also excellent work on the pictures. 8)

chairs are definitely tough....pretty neat story, but I bet they don't laminate their legs like I do! Makes for a nice "stable" leg, and looks good too!

Love the glue up to make sure the tight grain pops all around and matches top...great technique and also helps avoid possible curving with humidity changes I would guess.

You leg construction eliminates the cracking and checking that you would get in a solid piece.  Well done.

I love working with pine, easy on everything. I need to stop avoiding my fears of making my own chairs for my table.  :-\  :)

Like the stain you put down, on mine I used golden oak from minwax, I like the color it gives pine.

Yes, it's extra work,  takes me almost a full day just to construct the legs. But I figure it will be worth it in the long run!
