The "4N" number is the part number. Look on your engine tag and there will be an "AR" number. This is the engine arrangement number. Make sure you give this number along with the engine serial number to the CAT dealer to get the right one. They usually offer a reman insert without the inlet/exhaust housings, these are a little cheaper. You should be getting longer service than you are. Are the oil seals going out?

coxy

yes the oil seals and or bearings  are going bad its pushing oil out of muffler  does it every time  thanks

North River Energy

Are you in the habit of idling down for a bit before you shut off the machine?

wetdog

Idling down before shutdown is important so the turbo is not spinning excessively after oil pressure drops. Something else to check would be that the drain line under the turbo is not plugged/restricted. Dirty oil can also cause the bearings to fail.
