I had a guy bring me some cherry and cedar logs last week. I've only had the chance to saw each one time before, and I had never seen any cherry much bigger than my leg, until this.
On each he wanted 2" thick with live edges and as much character as I could get. He did warn me that the cedar was a yard tree and the cherry came out of a fenceline. he was fine with me using an old blade just in case of metal, but I didn't hit any. I (and he) thought it turned out pretty good and wanted to share. Thanks

Just a heads up...
where that branch comes off the main stem, Bore a hole equiv to the crack . It should stop the splitting for the most part. looks to be a lot of stress in those. It will help keep em a little bit better.
