I added a water system to my mill and thought I would share the results:

-wide cuts use way less power now
-blade buildup eliminated
-lack of buildup equals my blades are lasting almost 3-4x longer than before
-I can cut way faster on regular cuts now too

Downsides:
-Cutting faster isn't always good. more waves now
-I manage to spill water on my mill and controls everytime I refill
-Bearing is starting to make noise already, have to up my greasing schedule

What kind of a "water system" are you talking about and how much water does it use?

I just put a tank up top and it discharges about 4 gallons per hour of sawing.   It has worked really well, luckily I have an artesian well near the mill.
