Just wondering if anyone here has picked seeds off their Lilacs and planted them with success?

If so, do you wait until the seeds turn brown, and is there anything else special that needs to be done?

Hard to believe, no responses!

Anyway, I've been digging around on the net and it seems like a lot of bother planting seeds, and there are so many shoots popping up around the Lilac bushes, it will be a lot easier to just dig some and plant them!

So, that's what I'll do!

Or just take a cutting and root it.

That would be how a large number of plants and hedgerows were created here in the prairies. Works good. Keep the cutting in water till some root begins to develop and then into soil and keep it good and damp. Works for poplar and maple too. Carragana too but that's a bad weed.
