I will inherit about 15 acres of timber, age about 60 years old, so would like to have the timber assessed for market value.  This plot is west of Eugene Oregon, road accessible.  Any suggestions on the process for this?

Congratulations

Find a licensed forester and verify the qusetionable property lines; mark or remark them.

Send me a PM if you want the name of the licensed forester we hire.

Go to a local saw mill and have then come out and look at it.

LJ48 is absolutely right, any mill should have a timber buyer and will give a free asessment. I don't recommend selling standing timber to the first guy to make an offer until getting other bid's.

Are you wanting the value for tax or insurance reasons, or are you cutting as soon as its yours?
