Don't get a lot of nice Cedar around here especially larger logs.
I was able to squeeze out 14 boards - 12 inches wide - 9.9 feet long.

I was really surprised at the grain and I'm not sure if Cedar Technically has a grain. Its just wood. ;D

Don't forget to check out the AUCTION!

That is nice. Most cedar I saw of late has small streaks of rot in the heart. The consistently best cedar I have sawn was from standing dead trees on my neighbor's property. All gone now.

Poor growing conditions contribute to this wood grain growth,, but for where it's from not too shabby,  a big one for sure.
only have a few chain saws I'm not suppose to use, but will at times, one dog Dolly, pretty good dog, just not sure what for yet,  working on getting the gardening back in order, and kinda thinking on maybe a small bbq bizz,  thinking about it,

Yours was much nicer than the ERC that I finished up with today.  Two very junky logs.

As a matter of fact it was Peter. The tree service brought in it last week from our nearest town. It was in a yard from the old homes part of town.

That is some of the prettiest cedar that I have ever seen.

I reckon you southern boys need to take a gander at Ozarks cedar, however, ECR is real nice no matter where it's from.

I could call them "BUCK BOARDS" . ;D

I have tried scroll sawing critters out of Cedar before...it looked nice, but trying to scroll saw Antlers was hard....they kept breaking.  >:(

Lane Cedar Chest folks would be drooling if they saw that material.

Very Nice indeed.

Just beautiful.    Looks like it did not have much taper?

Our western red cedar is a bit less colorful but still nice although it usually has a lot of taper.   Just not fair.... ::) :)

That definitely is some nice cedar!

Out of the thousands and thousands of logs we sawed at my cedar mill in Alabama each year we might come across 10 that had that grain pattern.

At last years pig roast I gave Fat Old Elf several pieces of that type of cedar for him to work with. :)
