The one on the right is the only one that came with my lathe.
I made all the rest.

The donut is for inside bowl work.
#4 is just for tight spots. Look at it again in the top
photo. It doesn't sweep up as much as the forth photo
makes it look.

Cool!  I like folks that innovate.

I read on some of the turning forums how tool rests with hard tool steel tops are far superior to standard tool rests.  So....the black one is a clone of the Robust $$$$ comfort tool rest.  I used O1 steel and hardened it really hard.  O1 is hard to weld so I didn't do any more.  The green ones have 4130 steel tops.  That's easy to weld and I can still harden it, just not as much as 01.

The result of this experiment was hardened steel tool rests are no better than standard.....unless you get lots of catches.  I'll not harden any more but I do like the green ones with the 3/8" rod on top.  The design of the Robust comfort rest is nice, just not for my style.

Sneak preview of my Jamieson hollowing rig clone complete with TV camera.  Still in development stages but I did a practice hollow form 10" deep with a uniform wall thickness of 3/16" last week.

Just make sure the lens is clean at the start of a session.  Its only in place for the hollowing part, which doesn't last very long.

You must not use a bowl gouge, or you make really small bowls!
