Hey everyone! I have a chainsaw mill and a bunch of ponderosa pine and I want to make use of what I have for upcoming projects. One of these will be a duck coop/run that I'd like to build with green wood (no time to wait) the way you might build a small pavilion type structure. I'm having a hard time finding information on finishes, and I'm wondering if green ponderosa pine is a bad idea for this use? The ducks will generate a naturally moist environment but there will be plenty of ventilation. I obviously want to avoid mold/rot issues.

So my question is, should I avoid using green ponderosa pine for this, or is there a good finishing method I could use for this purpose? I've heard that wet pine doesn't accept oil finishes but I'm new to this so I'd love to hear if anyone has tips for wet pine.

Thanks in advance, I've learned a lot here and I hope I can pay it forward someday.
