It is with a very heavy heart that I share with you my Forestry Forum Friends that our Dear Friend Andy White had a massive heart attack this morning and died.
Andy had the biggest heart for giving as I have ever known. I could fill pages with instances where he gave so much of himself to others. The sawing for dablack (Austin Black) and wwsjr (Willie Steele) are two instances of his Love and Giving Spirit.
Pat and I offer our sincerest condolences to Nancy and to his sister Martha, and to the rest of his family. The big guy with the gruff voice will be missed.
Sad news, sorry to hear.
I am devastated to hear this. Just talked to Magicman. A lot of people are heart broken just as I am.
They just don't get any better than Andy....you may tie him but no better.
Julie and I sat and talked to Andy and his wife at the Pig Roast 2 years ago.
You could not help but love them....truly Gods angels on earth.
We will all miss you brother....RIP Andy. You were a mans man.
Our condolences to Nancy and the rest of his family.

This is a great loss for all of us. Andy was such a big part of the Forestry Forum. He was one of our members that embodied the true spirit of what we are here. So sad to hear this. Andy had become a friend to so many of us and will be dearly missed.

I liked reading his post in the woodworking part of the FF as I also like to use hand planes like he did .

Met Andy at Austin Blacks sawing project. I really took a liking to Andy and Nancy. He was was a hard worker and carried his share of the load. Met up on other outings as well. I didn't realize that Andy had so many talented skills until I began reading his post with detailed instructions and photos. All the wood working, then the rebuild of there Mustang. His hands and heart were so inspiring to a lot of people. I will miss seeing Andy at our next meeting which could be to help another person thru a hard time or eating some good food for another occasion. Will miss that big kind fella for sure. RIP my friend. bg
Oh what a shame.
Andy and family were also at Jeff's place in Wisconsin, and I was super impressed with his humour, knowledge and easy ability to connect with people.
His post on building a workbench was outstanding; it detailed both successes and failures (and how to compensate for them). Posts like that made you feel like you know somebody. His heart was there.
Andy, you'll be missed!
That is sad to hear. I only knew him through his posts.
Never met Andy, but have said for a long time, "I need to visit this man" . Like Mr Tom and Bro Noble, he will live on through his posts on the forum. Condolences to Nancy and Martha. RIP Andy..
Like so many others have posted I never met him but he seems like a long time friend and I miss him. My thoughts are with his wife and family. I trust there is a woodshop in heaven.

We met Andy and Nancy at the PR three years ago. They won a WM LT40 replica during the drawing for prizes. Then gave it to us to give our grandsons. Great people! You meet the best people at Forum and sawmill events!
Such a fine spirit and a man of fine character. I am honored to have met him and had the opportunity to sit and discuss all manner of subjects with him. RIP my friend.

Thanks to all of you for the kind words. Andy was an amazing man who could do anything and do it to perfection. He is my heart and soul and it's going to be tough not having him by my side. We did everything together and he built some of the most beautiful pieces of art. Pray for our family as we go through the next few days, weeks and years without our rock. Andy loved this forum and he made some wonderful lifelong friends on here, but the problem his life was not long enough. Thanks again.
I'm sorry to hear of the loss to his family and to ours here on the forum. My heartfelt condolences to all.
May the Blessing of Heaven rest upon him and may his family and friends be blessed by his memories.
A truly great and giving person.

So sorry for your/everyones loss MM. Condolences to the family.
Heartfelt condolences sent. I always enjoyed looking at the woodworking projects he had going. No doubt the things he created will stand the test of time. The man certainly had a gift for teaching and sharing his talents.
To all involved do your best to remember the good times. God bless.
I met Andy at the 2015 PR and got the impression of an individual that was more comfortable in overalls siting on a stump,
than in a 3 piece suit sitting on a leather chair behind a desk. He was easy to speak with and also easy going.
His loss is in no way measurable.
Rest in Peace ANDY.
Gerald

thank you MM
I am heartbroken because I lost my brother, yet joyful that Andy was so well thought of here on the forum. Your kind words are deeply appreciated, and I will always hold them in my heart as I will Andy. Over the years, he built things for me and always added his little brand to the items. These things are precious to me because they have his name burnt into the wood, and now, seared forever on my heart.
Andy was my first friend, and the best gift mama and daddy ever gave to me. What an adventure I've had going through life with him!
Rest in Peace, Dear Brother
I totally agree with Martha. My heart is so full reading all these posts. I wish I could personally hug each and everyone of you. Each word in your posts will be etched in my heart forever. Andy you were perfect in every way. I love you so much. Life will never be the same without you by my side.
thanks to MM for the link.
So sorry for your loss.
:(
A huge thank you to Bruno who stepped up for our family in our time of need. The spaulted maple box arrived Tuesday. It was nicely packaged so it would not get damaged. It is beautiful! I will never forget all the kind people on this forum. You are a class act. Last but not least a special thank you to Yukon C. for offering to do the same for our family. We truly appreciate your generosity. Nancy, Martha and Andy's brother, Tommy.
You are very welcome.
I will miss Mr Andy's post in the woodworking part a lot :( :(
Mr Yukon is a great person as well he reached out to me this winter when i was sick and feeling down .
That's what makes this place so special to me.
Bruno/Jim
As with most members here, I never had the privilege of meeting Andy but I could tell from reading his posts that he was a cut-above. I can only offer my condolences to his family and friends.
I don't know how I missed this but my heart is sad. I have no words.
This is very sad to read about Mr Andy. It was such a great pleasure to meet him and work along side of him at Mr Steels house.
