I loved that show - all about making things bigger, better, more powerful!  Arh! Arh! Arh!

I posted this picture in a couple of threads when people described something they wanted for a heavy moving job. A DR Power Wagon:

I used it to move these down a hill into my back yard - about 12,000 pounds.  I could move 650 pounds in a trip, full bed.

Long story short, I picked up a 48" Cub Cadet 2 stage snow blower and mounted a 6.5hp motor to it.  I was hoping to use my ATV to move it around.  No go - too heavy for the suspension on the ATV.  So I started mounting it on the PW.  I built a replacement bed to support the load - but then I figured, make it dual purpose so I added more to it and almost tripled the load volume!  Now I can really haul stuff!  The unit is rated at 800 pounds.  In my cabin build, I could only get 10 foundation blocks comfortably in the old bed, now I can get 24 (about 650 pounds).  That is the old bed sitting inside the new one.

The front bed section between the front stake pockets removes to allow the bed to wrap around the motor on the snow blower.  I also have a 5' plow to mount for less/lighter snow falls.  Hope to work on it some more tomorrow if the rain stops early enough.

When I get to old and need a wheelchair I'll be getting one of those. That is quite the machine and looks quite handy! Thanks for sharing.

Handy looking little cart, but it really could use a small block Chevy to speed the job up. ;D

Naw, I'd use a aluminum Type 3 VW engine - a lot lighter and plenty of omph!  But seriously, I'm thinking electric start would be nice.  These were designed with a 6 or 6.75hp Tecumseh engine ::) but with electric start, all I can find used start around 14hp.  Then, with a battery on board, I could add a winch and use it as a skidder ;) :D
