Yesterday we ordered the pig and the port-a-potty so that means it is time to start getting a count for the pigroast. :)
You are not required to rsvp to attend, but we sure would appreciate it if you think there is a good chance you are coming to add your number of attendees to our count. This gives us a good idea on what to expect and also gives incentive to others to come join us. We'll have a special guest staying with us this year which should add to the fun and I'll tell about later. So,
Jeff, Wildflower, Stacy, Jeremy, Amanda, Dogman Pete and Leeenda, Tammy's mom and Gene make

Dat's 12, 11 if I can't count da Harley
We'll have a Harley here too... :)
While some people think I should be committed, I can't commit to attending yet this year. I'll let you know when I know. Let's just say that I'm working on it, as last year, my inaugural, was quite enjoyable.
Count Lindy and I in.
13
I will be retired by then. But, I still don' t know if I can make it. The TF Guild National Conference is the next week end and I want to attend it also. So, it's a matter of money I guess. If I do come, I don't know if it will be just me, me and the Wife (think egg rolls) or me, the wife and the 2 grandsons.
Will let you know if and how many when I know - probably the night before is when I will know.
Bruce
I guess I missed something
Where is it?
When is it?
what about accommodations?
Do we need to bring anything?
What are the plans?
Thanks
Jim
I updated the first post. This is the 11th annual pigroast. You can search pigroast on the forum and find lots and lots of stuff about it. :)
Fat Olde Elf makes 14. Thought I had already signed up on a previous list but consider my age............See you there !!!
I like THOSE egg rolls.
Come on Danny, you'll be there, right?
Diane, Gerald and I make 18 8)
This year we are shipping the bikes to San Francisco and riding up to Washington and across the top to get there. I like taking the long way. We are shipping to SF because of time constraints, I only have 2 weeks and my delicate flower and I want to enjoy the trip and not feel like we are on some sort of reality TV show.
Bill, Dan, DrBuck, Jake, or any FF riders want to join us?
Jon

I'm guessing that there will be a doc on hand for the swelling if anybody brings up hitchin' at the roast, Jeff already has the correct boot for the after hit on da foot.

Soak it in Pickle Peach juice for 4 hours.
Joyce and I plan to bring the count to 41. We plan to take the picture rocks boat tour on the way. A lady friend of ours may make the trip with us but we will leave her to visit her brother about 100 miles from Harrison. Her brother has a mill but dont know if he is on the forum. The national trappers convention is a week before the pig roast and close enough to us to make it a day trip.
John and faith make 43 8). You can seat me at the retiree's table with Chet.

So hoping the date is free.

You don't have to bring a dish. You can bring a dish if you want too but it is not required. Jeff and I provide the pig, beans and Macaroni salad the day of the pig roast. Some others bring what they feel like bringing.
Hope you can make it. :)
Thanks wildflower
Mrs Beaver and I are very excited to attend our first forestry forum pig roast. She has already told me she will whip up a heaping helping of her Potato Salad to bring with us.
This is a great thing Jeff and Tami are doing. It got up to plan a whole vacation in Michigan as a result. The night of the Pig roast we are staying in Clare Michigan, then on the 3rd, we continue on to Mackinaw City and Mackinac Island for 3 days, then on the return trip we stop at Soaring Eagle Casino in Mount Pleasant for the night before returning to Fort Wayne.
Thanks for hosting such a great event and look forward to meeting everyone.

RAIDER BILL! COPS AND DONUTS WILL BE DELIVERING BREAKFAST ON SATURDAY MORNING OF THE PIGROAST! REPEATING COPS AND DONUTS WILL BE HERE!
That Squealer doughnut they have is without a doubt the best doughnut I've ever had!
Anudder day of prep for the pigroast. WE NEED MORE NAMES ON THIS LIST!
Went up to Mcbain to Hydolake this morning, the pole plant, and got some pole end trims. You can get them for 20 bucks a pickup load. The untreated pine Makes great table legs or other things, or just bonfire wood. Needed to replace some legs on one of the tables we use outdoors for the roast. The four replaced legs were weathered just enough you can't even tell I replaced them. The other four crumbled when I took them off. I may build another table yet as well. I also built a couple of rustic chairs for sitting around the fire on from two old boards the neighbor was going to get rid of. They are very simple and quite comfy.
The pig roaster was also prepped today and ready to go!

Being a first-timer, what time does this party get rolling?
If you roll in to town on friday, come when ever. We will be getting ready for the next day. We have a supper that evening for everyone that is here. That can be 50+ many times. We put the pig on and visit all evening around a fire and the yard. The next morning Saturday, we have breakfast. This year, to take some pressure off of Tammy, the World Famous Cops and Donuts will be showing up with their big truck about 8 oclock in the morning. BE HERE! :D We usually try to start Pig by 12:30 or so, and then in the afternoon do door prizes and what ever, and then visit into the night. Some people come back again Sunday morning to help pick up and do a little last minute visiting and say goodbye.
The longer you are here, the more time you have to visit. Believe me, there is never enough time. :)
Sadly Pat and I will not be able to attend this year. :'(
Bummer, MM. Linnea and I were looking forward to chatting with the two of you.
I hope it is just a time management thing and nothing more serious.
We have a PNW trip planned a little later, so it is time + $$$.

I'll start a thread when/as the route is finalized.

I've been really trying to attend this year but everything is stacking up against me. My wife is taking a couple of our grandchildren to Florida during that time and is expecting me to take care of her chickens. I was looking for someone to handle that for me, but then found out that my daughter is taking a trip to Pennsylvania and is expecting me to take care of her two dogs. :( I don't have that one figured out yet and right now it looks like a show stopper.
simple solution Charlie! Bring those chickens with you! The pig could really use the company!
You could let the dogs take care of the chickens. smiley_devilish
Wife keeps asking when I'll know if we can make it and I tell her soon, I hope. We are trying to get a vacation rental house ready to rent and I hope in a few days to be ready. I'll post about it in another thread.

What's the count on how many you're expecting?
You really never know until that day. People come that don't say anything here, and sometimes people that thought they were coming have something come up. Usually we have about 25% more that the count here, so 100 plust I'll guess.

Nomad, I will look out for you parked under the bridge if its raining.
I am forced to rescind my RSVP.
My sister passed away Sunday afternoon, and blood family takes precedence over sawdust family.
I have already started planning a Michigan vacation for the first weekend in August next year.
Sorry and sad to hear about your sister Tom. Take care and we will see you some other time.
BBTom,sorry to hear of your sister's passing.
I spent most of the summer building a small table to use as a door prize at the pig roast. It is such a beautiful table that I am sure that Jeff will use it as the grand prize.

I am sure a lot more people will now be attending the pig roast to have a chance to win such a beautiful table.
I can see a lot of you in that table, Bob :).
Jeff: I am planning on coming this year. Do I get on business 127 or look for smoke in the air ?
I like the drywall screws in your table Pigman. How on earth can you part with it? :D
Is that "load rated" for big ole fat boys?

Leaving in an hour with blocks for the cabin, and a few Texas specialties for Jeff and Tammy. Looking forward to meeting everyone there.

Enroute now, but with a stop over tonight. My little red car is not comfortable enough for me to make the 1000 miles at one stretch.
But come Friday am I shall be back at it with 300 miles left.

If I win Pigman's Grand Prize,
you'll all see me on Antique Road Show getting my appraisal! :)
If the Brown Truck brings Deutz flywheel bolts today I NEED to get the machine back together so we can go back to the woods Monday. If it doesn't show up I'll be there hoping my parts show up Monday :) I'd rather Pig Roast than wrench but...
We wish that we were there instead of here. :-\
We will drop down from the UP this morning. We will be at the Friday night shindig!
Car is all packed and Mrs. Beaver just finished making two trays of Tuna macaroni Salad. Cant wait to see you all in the morning.
I will be easy to recognize....just look for the beaver hat
you can tuna piano but, you cant tuna fish : ;D (old saying)
I map quested it,"google" mapped it and got sevaral routes .One tried to route me though Indiana of all things .I'm like 3 miles from I -75 for heavens sakes .Why in the world would I care to look at corn fields in Indiana ,got one right out my front door .Soo,good old Garmin will get it or I'll end up in Canada .Should be 10ish when I get there.
Jeff,
Wish I could have made it but this was not the year. Long drive, might have been able to get a buddy pass on the airlines, but flights are so full anymore that is a shot in the dark. Would have loved to got there a couple of days early and helped you prepare if you needed help.
Thanks for running the forum the way you do. What I really like is I am in a remote area with only dial-up internet but the pages load fairly quickly.
Have learned a lot from this forum.
Again thanks. Not a lot of people would sponsor a pig roast for some people they have never met.
We just rolled into town about 20 minutes ago! Wanted to go on down and meet everyone, but the old body says NO! Got all snug in the room, had a cup of coffee, and am now ready for some shuteye. Nancy and I will see you all about 7.30ish tomorrow. Andy
corley5,
hope you make it I will be getting there around 9 to 10 a.m. gonna bring a couple of 4-berry pies. Got my driveway in this week on my new property too. Probably will learn so much my wife wont recognize me when I get home (head swells when I absorb a lot of info)
Nancy and I enjoyed low country boil supper tonight and of course the fellowship with everyone. We're settled in at at motel up in Houghton Lake and can't wait to get back to Harrison in the morning.
We had somewhere around 40 people here tonight. If you can make it here tomorrow, do it! Just wait until you see the door prize that logrite brought this year! We also have an awesome Stihl chainsaw donated by Enderby Rentals (Carla and Paul_H) with the logistic help of Northwest Stihl, Bryan Equipment in Ohio, then Harrison Lumber. From B.C. to Harrison to get a stihl saw for a door prize. Amazing! We also have a whole box of goodies from Rick at North East Stihl, and lots of other stuff too!
I hope you guys are having fun!
I'm missing not being there :(
Dan, you are missed at this end.
Your Hog is probably pouting in the garage tonight. :D

That's a fact! Next year my friend!

I'm sitting here in florida drinking coffee out of my FF cup wearing my FF hat and T-shirt bummed that I not there this year.
Bill, I guess that we are not there together, or something like that. :D
I'll really miss not seeing the old friends and meeting new ones. :-\
Looks like a great day for a pigroast. Have fun everyone. :)
Watching the live video feed. Wishing we were there.
Can't seem to make the video work, it's me I know, but it don't matter some day (or year) I do plan to see it in person. Hope everyone is having a great time and great weather for it!
Edit: Man this place sure gets quiet this time of year :)
Sounds like fun to be had by one and all. Be safe and enjoy. I look forward to stories!
