what finish can be used on juniper

I have some juniper wood that when varnish is applied changes colour after time , what can i use to seal it better so it stays its natural redish tones

If you find something let us know, as we are all looking for something that will retain that color. :-\

The best thing I have found for outdoor protection is Minwax Helmsman Spar Urethane, but I have learned recently that it too will break down and will need re-sanding and re-finishing.

I learned of an expensive coating from a guy at the N.Y. Yacth Club taht is supposed to be the best thing for UV protection but I doubt you would want to pay for it.
The oil is all in Texas, but the dipsticks are in D.C.
