03 648 giii john deere skidder

Looking at buying a 648 gii john deer skidder. Does anyone know what the button on the gearshift is for?

jdparts.com was down for repair, so couldn't look there for an answer.
A Deere dealer may be able to come up with an answer by getting to a manual for you.

Self-destruct button.

Might be the lock in/out of park button.  Ours has a slide on the shifter you need to pull up to get in or out of park. Maybe a newer model is electronic

it is a saftey button. after releasing parking brake, button must be held down while moving shifter into gear. from then on it is no longer ness to push and hold button.

it kicks the the lock in and out they started on the g series the e series had them by the gear shift
