I have the opportunity to log up to several hundred acres of Doug Fir, most of it is thinning out extremely over crowded stands. The timber is tall and strait but diameter is on the smaller side, however, the grain is tight and the knots are tight as well (mostly pin knot) and I'm trying to determine a market for post and beam/timber framing. I realize that housing inspections/permits/etc are different state to state, I'm located in the extreme NW of WA State and am wondering mainly that if I had a huge selection of post/beam/timber stock to sell to contractors, what kind of Grade Stamp does this material require? And...is there any loop hole on getting past the stamp IF the material is cut over sized...?

Thanks
