If we didn't have aspen we wouldn't have a timber industry in northern MN. OSB, paper, and cellulosic fiber all use aspen for their main feed stock in our mills, and a lot of it goes for pallet production too.

Just to help you manage expectations, anything merchantable will be picked up and hauled to the mill, topped off on the next job if necessary.

It would seem to me that tightly stacked green fresh cut lumber will develop air gaps quicky as it dries anyway. My stacks are never that tight.   FWIW.

Just checked compression and it was 142 psi after 20 minutes of running. Definitely feel it when cranking it over! Now waiting for clutch springs to finish putting it together!

Small update.

Well, it turned out that one of the windows wasn't square enough and couldn't be fixed. It was fine during test fit but I must have skewed it while clamping during glue up. I sawed it apart and was able to save the kumiko lattice and I'm making a new frame for it.

I also was able to find some new old stock Japanese copper gutters and hanging brackets for a good price. I think I can make the other few gutter accessories such as end caps and a downspout for a rain chain myself. That will be fun.

And I finally, after many weeks and emails with the manufacturer,  have the rest of the roof panels and ridge caps in hand and have maybe one more day to finish the roof, with my wonderful neighbor's help.

Sorry, no pictures this time.

The commercial 25.5 hp Kawasaki on my zero turn has cast iron liners and a really good air filtering system. Great engine but sucks down 2 gallons of gas per hour under load. I think most brands have a commercial rated engine series that is made to be rebuildable and last several thousand hours. Trouble  is finding a distributor that will sell one. I went with the carburetor model for simplicity but efi has better fuel efficiency at a price.

Do the trucks have a loader on them or do you have a way to unload a semi trailer of logs?  Do you realize how much sawing there will be in a semi load of logs?  You don't want to drop that kind of coin and have the bugs wreck a bunch of it.

Sun till 330. I was cutting lumber and had a 1 ton full of slabs to chip. Then the rain came. I called it a day and took my sister out for a seafood dinner.
