What hook angle on band blades do you use to cut walnut ?Most of it is green. :P

Kirk_Allen

I use a 10 degree WM blade on all my walnut.  If its green you should not have much problem provided the width of you cut is not to big.

On the dry Walnut I have used both the 9 and 10 degree blades.  If its a really big log I use 9 degree.

Hope that helps.

By the time we accumulate enough walnut logs to saw they are usually extremely dry. I usually use 9 deg WM's .If the logs are large I have used as little as 8 deg with good results.

Since everything we cut is hardwoods we use the 9 degree blade. Could use 10 degree on walnut and cherry but hard to keep track of which one is which.
