DanG I missed it again!

And I was just saying how I'd like to have tried out a Dolmar saw...I could've brought a cant or two down too...
Boy, back in my day..

Looks like husqvarna wanted something to run against the stihl 391 I suppose. I'm sure it will sell great at Lowes.

I'm learning about Dolmars bit by bit. They have a new chassis out that I would have liked to try.

Not going to say a word.....one thing I suspect is the 465 throttle linkage will last a long time... :) AND the saw is pretty light along with having the RIGHT stiffness springs in the anti vib system as Husqvarna has played that game a long time. The one thing that impressed me.....it was quiet. Looked like it had solid power....power to match the weight class of saw it is. Actually a really nice concept.

Was that your video?

That's an awesome dealer right there...was a wonderful event. One Dolmar I really want to learn more about is the new 6100 series. They had one there. At some point I want to get my hands on one of those saws....if you do please post pics and comments!

Yes obviously - but the decision to market it must have taken some time, as the model originally was announced for 2012 (it was in the 2012 printed catalog here).... :D

Finally an engine size that fits the weight and bulk of the 455 family in a decent way.

.....and now I know why Bob reportedly did most of the firewood (vs. cookie) cutting on that GTG..... ;D

So how slow will a 65cc 4.29 hp saw cut with a 28" bar??  I wouldn't run a 365 at 70cc 4.83hp with a 28" bar.

Another helpful post from Joe.  ::)

Does the WD40 and duct tape in your sig come in handy with those Stihls that you run?

I've actually never had to use wd-40 or duct tape on any of my stihl saws, I wouldn't run a 28" bar on my 362 c-m either at 4.7 hp...just to much bar. On a 441, 372xp or larger I would. I've run my father's 346xp, thats a sweet cutting little saw, will out cut my old 024 or old 026, but wouldn't put a 20" bar on it. For what the saw is I'm sure it will be fine for consumers.

If there was more the 1 husqvarna dealer, aside from lowes, in my county my 362 c-m would have been a 562xp. Stihl just has a much larger dealer coverage here.

Expectations vary wildly, as do other factors that decides the cutting speed.

The costumers such saws are meant for usually isn't those with the highest expectations (or needs).

I have 2 346's one wears an 18, the other sports a 20 in bar, it sure doesn't let anyone know it is handicapped.

I got a 6100 a couple years back right there. Bud sez it's badazz, and he's right. You could have tried it right there if you wanted to; probably close to tripping over it. It cut up a good bit of bigger sticks there, getting some exercise. (Mainly been using brushcutters & polesaw last couple months.)
Besides being more than merely competitive with similar products from other mfgs. it's pretty much got them beaten for value, except maybe Echo, with their 59 cc at $400. And ... 6100 Dolly has great a/v.
If you try one, be prepared to take it home.
